From snack food to brewery: Charlotte, NC

Salt + Vinegar is scheduled to open in the fall of 2020, and will be located at: 2001 W. Morehead Street, Charlotte, NC.

This 22,000 square foot space will include a production area, taproom and full menu!

In the 1950's, this space used to be the home of Mitchum Quality Snacks. The name, Salt + Vinegar pays homage to the snacking company. This is the third location for Legion Brewing company, which is based out of Charlotte, NC.

The 22,000 square foot space will be produced by taking two buildings and making them one.

46 million dollar civil war and reconstruction history center being discussed for Fayetteville, NC

There appear to be two points of view in the building of this history center in Fayetteville, NC.

Project supporters suggest: It will focus on life in the state starting from 1835 through the end of the 19th Century.

Community leaders, including the Mayor of Fayetteville, suggest: The site will turn into a shrine for white supremacists, creating tensions just as were created in Charlottesville in 2017.

The mayor believes the history center could become a place for confrontations between white supremacists and counter protestors.  He would rather the state money be used towards pressing community problems.

Convention centers: Are they in or are they out?

Changing Landscapes at work...

Studies show that cities that have and use their convention centers, bring in more money than the cities that do not. Just 2 years ago, cities that utilize their convention centers, brought in hundreds of millions of dollars combined.

Because of the rise in usage of convention centers, cities that have centers that are outdated or on the smaller side are now revamping and/or adding on to stay current with the times.

In order for cities to increase revenue, a conveniently located convention center is needed and often times a new hotel nearby will also be in the construction plan. Make sense right? For those traveling to said conventions, a new hotel seems like a smart idea.
